3 nabbed with 'shabu', guns, explosives in Bato, Camarines Sur

LEGAZPI CITY, Oct. 17 (PNA) -- Anti-narcotics lawmen arrested three suspected drug peddlers found with "shabu" (methamphetamine hydrochloride) guns and hand grenades in Bato, Camarines Sur over the weekend, said a report that reached the Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO5) Monday.

Sr. Insp. Ma. Luisa Calubaquib, PRO5 spokesperson, said the lawmen arrested Manuel Lauta, 47, and two companions in a raid in his house at Sitio Maogmang Kulod, Barangay Tres Reyes, Bato at 6 a.m. Sunday.

Police identified Lauta’s two other companions as Rosemarie Tumbado, 37, and Jomar Santor, 25.

The operatives seized from the suspects nine sachets of shabu, drug paraphernalia, three pieces of 12-gauge shotguns, two .38-caliber revolvers, ammunition for the two firearms and three hand grenades.

Calubaquib said the joint team which conducted the raid were from the Bato Municipal Police Office, Provincial Intelligence Branch, Regional Anti Illegal Drug Special Operation Task Group and Regional Intelligence Division.

She said the suspects would face charges for violations of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Drugs Act of 2002 and RA 10591 or Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition and Providing Penalties Thereof. (PNA) LAP/GVR/JH/EDS
