PNP-Bicol chief, 6 provincial heads undergo drug test
By Jorge Hallare

LEGAZPI CITY, June 22 (PNA) -- Chief Supt. Augusto M. Marquez Jr., Police Regional Office 5 director, and Bicol's six provincial directors submitted themselves to voluntary drug testing Wednesday inside Camp Gen. Simeon A. Ola here to manifest to incoming president Mayor Rodrigo Duterte and incoming Philippine National Police chief Ronald Dela Rosa that the PNP Bicol supports them in their fight against illegal drugs.

Marquez had earlier asked the provincial directors of Albay, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Sorsogon and Masbate to join him in the drug testing, together with his directorial staff.

Members of the PNP Crime Laboratory at the camp got urine samples from Marquez and his subordinate officials for laboratory examination, whose results will be known Thursday.

Marquez then asked the six provincial directors to order their chiefs of police to undergo drug test and make a random testing of their men, especially those suspected of using illegal drug.

Whoever is found positive to the drug test faces a strong punishment from the PNP national leadership, he said. (PNA) RMA/FGS/JH/CBD/RSM
