NIB Director Danilo S. Jamora passes away at 65 (Obit)

MANILA, May 17 (PNA) -- Director Danilo S. Jamora of the News and Information Bureau (NIB) died of stroke on May 14, 2016. He was 65.

Born on Sept. 30, 1950 in Jaro, Iloilo, Jamora graduated with a degree in Journalism at the University of the East.

He began his government career as a writer at the Bureau of Plant Industry of the Department of Agriculture during the 1970s. He also worked at the former Ministry of Human Settlements.

He started working in Malacanang during the term of former President Fidel V. Ramos. He was also among the speech writers of former Presidents Joseph Estrada and Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

He became director of the NIB, an attached agency of the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO), on May 22, 2014.

Director Jamora is survived by his wife, Leonida, and son Richmond.

His remains lie in state at the family residence in Barangay Duhat, Santa Cruz, Laguna.

Interment is on May 19, 2016 at the Pila Cemetery in Pila, Laguna. (PNA) SCS/CLTC
