Another Albay town winners proclaimed

STO. DOMINGO, Albay, May 10 (PNA) – The Municipal Board of Canvassers of Sto. Domingo proclaimed Tuesday incumbent Mayor Herbie Aguas as the elected mayor in the municipality.

Aguas won the election with 9,150 votes against Ricky Ziga, who garnered 8,963 votes, and Nelia Balana, with 146 votes.

Only 19,064 votes had been counted from the 22,000 registered voters in the municipality.

Aguas expressed his gratitude to the people of Sto. Domingo for the support through his Facebook account.

It will be his last term as mayor of the town in the first district of Albay known for black sand beaches.

For the national position, Grace Poe got the highest vote in the municipality, with 6,325 votes; Mar Roxas, 5,050; Binay, 3,414; Duterte, 2,867; and Santiago, 556.(PNA) RMA/FGS/OJT/CBD
