Woman survives grenade blast in Camarines Sur

LEGAZPI CITY, April 28 (PNA) -- A grenade lobed by a motorcycle riding-in-tandem suspects exploded on Wednesday afternoon at the back of a Ford Ranger vehicle parked outside the Pili Sports Complex in Pili, Camarines Sur, a report reaching the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Bicol said Thursday.

Police Senior Insp. Maria Luisa Calubaquib, PNP Bicol spokesperson, said Myrna Reyes, 36, married, a resident of barangay (village) San Felipe, in Naga City, and the driver of the vehicle, was unhurt when the grenade exploded at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Calubaquib, quoting the police report, said the victim was at the driver’s seat when the grenade exploded, bringing damages at the back of the Ford Ranger car.

Witnesses told police investigators said they saw two unidentified suspects riding a motorcycle threw a hand grenade as they passed at the parked vehicle at the intersection of Berva and Velarde Sts., in Barangay San Juan, in Pili town.
