LEGAZPI CITY, March 29 (PNA) -- For not wearing the proper uniform, police arrested on Tuesday morning a man posing as a police officer and trying to enter Camp Gen. Simeon A. Ola here.
A police report identified the man as Randy Lerio, 34, married and a resident of Barangay Salvacion Guitago, Nabua, Camarines Sur.
The report said Lerio entered the camp's gate at about 7:10 a.m. wearing the Philippine National Police camouflage green field uniform.
The base police officer manning the gate, however, noticed that his uniform did not have the name plate on his uniform so the former held and investigated him.
Lerio turned out to be an impostor so the base officer arrested him.
When the officer checked Lerio's backpack, he found five live ammunition for a caliber .38 revolver.
The police brought Lerio to the Legazpi City Police Station to find out his purpose for pretending to be a police officer and entering the police camp which was under red alert status due to the threat of the New People's Army which is celebrating its founding anniversary.
Lerio is now facing charges for violation of the Revised Penal Code's Article 177 and 179 or Republic Act 10591.(PNA) RMA/FGS/JH/CBD/EDS
