LEGAZPI CITY, March 16 (PNA) -- Ten Bicolano micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are joining the 2016 Sikat Pinoy National Food Fair which opens Wednesday until Sunday at the 5th Level Mega B of SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City.
A major fair of the Department of Trade and Industry-Bureau of Domestic Trade Promotion (DTI-BDTP), the event has for its theme “Piling-Piling Pagkaing Pilipino.”
The food fair is part of a series of national trade fairs held by DTI-BDTP to help promising MSMEs from the different regions to reach a wider domestic market, and eventually, prepare them for the global market.
It is also an opportunity for the MSMEs to expand their network linkages.
Out of the 10 Bicolano MSMEs, five are from Albay, four from Camarines Sur and one from Sorsogon.
Bicol delicacies like pili nut confectioneries, pinangat, Bicol express, herbal teas (ginger, turmeric, moringa and lemon grass), are being showcased in the food fair.
"Visitors to the fair, especially those who shop, will surely enjoy the many flavors, textures and ingredients of Bicolano foods, which they can give to their balikbayan, relatives and friends," the DTI said. (PNA) FFC/FGS/CBD/EDS
