3 die when motorcycle falls into ravine in Masbate

CAMP GEN. SIMEON A. OLA, Legazpi City, Jan. 21 (PNA) -– Three persons died when the motorcycles they were riding plunged into a ravine along the national highway in Barangay Binitinan, San Fernando, Masbate on Wednesday afternoon.

A police report identified the fatalities as Marvin Caparino, 16, habal-habal (illegally-for-hire motorcycle) driver; Jaime Oliva, 43, married; and Rene Tugbo, 54, married and a carpenter – all residents of Barangay Baybay-Dagat, San Fernando.

The report said Caparino was bringing Oliva and Tugbo home on board his motorcycle at about 3:24 p.m. when he lost control of his vehicle at the area of the accident.

The motorcycle fell into 50-foot deep side of the road where the casualties were seriously injured, causing their death.

Residents of the area immediately responded to retrieve the victims’ bodies.(PNA) FFC/FGS/EMC/CBD
