LEGAZPI CITY, Oct. 20 (PNA) -- Joint personnel of the Bacacay Municipal Police Station (MPS), Philippine Coast Guard and Bureau of Fire Protection in Bacacay, Albay have saved two brothers who were earlier reported to have been seen floating at sea on Sunday morning.

The quick rescue operation conducted by the authorities eventually saved brothers Alberto, 29, and Alex, 13 -- both surnamed Bersabe.

The two brothers were earlier reported by their mother, Maria, to have been missing and seen floating in the sea off Barangay Cajogotan, Bacacay, Albay.

Investigation conducted by the Bacacay MPS said that at about 8 a.m. on Sunday, the victims sailed off using a small boat to look for their father Juan, who left their residence at about 5 a.m. Saturday to fish but failed to return home.

According to the brothers, their boat was smashed by big waves, causing it to sink.

They were able to hold on to its parts for them to float.

Fortunately, they were seen by Alex Adamos and immediately inform the victim’s family. (PNA) LAP/FGS/CBD
