Authorities find firearms, nab man in drug raid in Camarines Sur town

LEGAZPI CITY, Oct. 12 (PNA) -- Joint operatives of the Provincial Intelligence Bureau of Camarines Sur Provincial Police Office, Criminal Investigation and Detection Team, Nabua Municipal Police Station and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency arrested a man and seized firearms and ammunition in a raid on a suspected drug den at Zone 7, Sitio Pangaraon, Barangay San Jose, Nabua, Camarines Sur on Friday.

A police report released on Sunday said the law enforcers led by Supt. Ferdinand S. Raymundo, Chief Bernard Lao, Senior Insp. John Murray C. Cutaran arrested Romeo E. Sotto but failed to find his companions William Paul S. Sotto and Ramil Barela.

Seized from the residence of William Paul Sotto were one 12-gauge shotgun (SAS12), one magazine for shotgun (SAS12), three live ammunition for shotgun, one caliber .45 pistol TM Remington SN:759419, one stainless magazine for caliber .45 loaded with six ammunition, two magazines for caliber .45 loaded with seven live ammunition each, one broken barrel for caliber .45, one caliber .22 Magnum TM: North American Arm (Black Widow), five live ammunition for caliber .22, five live ammunition for carbine, one brown holster, one black low carry, one black/silver box, one partially opened medium-sized transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu, four unsealed small transparent plastic sachets containing traces of suspected shabu, two disposable lighters (blue/violet), two aluminum foils as improvised burner, one stainless surgical scissors, one improvised plastic tooter (water pipe), three bundles of unused plastic transparent sachets, one mini case TM: Apple (gray with silver lining) containing 230 pieces of PHP20 bills (PHP4,660) and seven pieces of of PHP5 coins (PHP350) with a total of PHP5,010, one mini box (black/silver) containing four pieces of PHP500 bills (PHP2,000), one piece of PHP200 bill, eight pieces of PHP50 bills (PHP400), 72 pieces of PHP100 bills (PHPP7,200), and one cell phone TM: Myphone (black/white).

At about 6:20 a.m. of the same date, the following items were also seized inside the hut of William Paul Sotto: one piece of glass tube tooter, two pieces of lighter (color green and yellow), one surgical scissors, one medium-sized transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu and one digital weighing scale (color silver and black combination).

The authorities were armed with Search Warrant Nos. IR-2015-46, IR-2015-47, IR-2015-48, IR-2015-49, IR-2015-50, IR-2015-51 and IR-2015-52 issued on October 6, 2015 by Timoteo A. Panga Jr., executive judge of Regional Trial Court, Iriga City at the houses including the hut. (PNA) FFC/FGS/EMC/CBD
