Masbate village official shot dead by motorcycle-riding men

CAMP BONNY SERRANO, Masbate City – A village official was shot dead by men riding in tandem in Sitio Imburnal, Barangay Daraga, Placer, Masbate at around 7:00 a.m. Tuesday, a police report said Friday.

Senior Supt. Prexy D. Tanggawohn, officer-in-charge,of the Masbate Police Provincial Office (MPPO), identified the victim as Jerry C. Jumao-as, 41, married and a barangay kagawad (village councilman) of Barangay Pili, Placer, Masbate.

Police investigation showed that Jumao-as was driving his motorcycle on his way home when fired at by two unidentified men wearing helmets aboard another motorbike.

The victim died on the spot due to several gunshot wounds in his body and a fatal shot on his head.

A responding team of the local municipal police in Placer town led by Senior Insp. Carlos G. Estonilo Jr. recovered two pieces of fired cartridges from caliber 9mm pistol, five fired cartridges and two slugs of caliber .45 pistol at the crime scene.(PNA) CTB/FGS/NBT/cbd/
