LEGAZPI CITY, April 22 (PNA) -- The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Bicol Regional Office on Tuesday said the agency has proposed a budget of PHP410.9 million for its scholarship programs in 2016.
TESDA Regional Director Conrad Bares said the PHP410.9-million budget is fairly distributed among the region's provinces and congressional districts.
Bares said the agency will use the budget through its different programs, namely: Private Education Students Financial Assistance (PESFA), Training For Work Scholarship Program (TWSP), Special Training For Employment Program (STEP), and Bottom-Up Budgeting (BUB).
The fund allocation for the province and districts of Camarines Sur is PHP133.5 million; First District, PHP3.1 million; Second District, PHP54.3 million; Third District, PHP21.4; Fourth District, PHP4.8 million; and Fifth District, PHP7.3 million.
In Albay, the sub-total budget is PHP91.1 million; First District, PHP49.9 million; Second District, PHP5.3 million, and Third District, PHP5.3 million.
Sorsogon has PHP70.0 million; First District, PHP18.5 million, and Second District, PHP33.8 million; while Masbate has PHP44.5 million; First District, PHP5.8 million; Second District, PHP17.9 million, and Third District, PHP3.3 million.
In Catanduanes, the sub-total is PHP34.9 million, while Camarines Norte has PHP22.7 million; First District, PHP5.5 million; and Second District, PHP2.5 million.
Bares said the allocation budget for every scholarship program is based on the performance of the training providers, certification and employment rate of graduates for TWSP.
