LEGAZPI CITY, April 29 (PNA) -- The Albay Provincial Health Office (PHO) is preparing for medical missions in selected barangays in Albay to be conducted by its Team Albay Countryside Development Caravan (TACDEC).
The TACDEC was formed by Albay Gov. Joey Sarte Salceda to speedily respond in times of medical necessities.
It is headed by Dr. Nathaniel Rempillo, assisted by Dr. Loreto Capellan, Dr. Antonio Ludovice Jr., Dra. Ma. Theresa Belarma, Dr. Richmund Nuyda, Dr. Glenn Thadeus Isip, Dr. Vicente Reyes, Jr. Dr. Aristotle Alim, and Dr. Randie Asuncion. A team of selected nurses and staff members will assist them.
The PHO and its TACDEC medical mission will give free consultations to those who cannot afford to go to a clinic or to those who are away from the town proper.
On April 17, the PHO-TACDEC conducted a medical mission in Barangay Salvacion, Pioduran, Albay, where the units of the Armed Forces of the Philippines Southern Luzon Command -- Naval Forces Southern Luzon, Philippine Air Force Tactical Operations Group 5 and the Army’s 901st Infantry Brigade and 2nd Infantry Battalion -- joined in as part of the TACDEC.
The team's services included medical, dental and feeding activities.
On May 5, the PHO will conduct a medical mission in Barangay Sinungtan, Guinobatan, Albay, and its four clustered barangays.
The team will be in Barangay Bautista, Jovellar, on June 3; in Barangay Tibabo, Pioduran, on June 15; Barangay Mapaco, Guinobatan, Aug. 11; Barangay Whitedeer, Jovellar, Sept. 9; and Barangay Cuyaoyao, Pioduran, Oct. 20. The TACDEC medical mission will end on Nov, 11 in Barangay Doña Mercedes, Guinobatan.
Rempillo said 40 barangays will benefit from the medical missions.
The TACDEC has had three successful medical and dental missions in Barangay San Vicente, Jovellar; Barangay Balite, Guinobatan; and Barangay Salvacion, Pioduran.
