Albay local officials, business firms all set to give Albayanos view of Pac-May fight

LEGAZPI CITY, April 27 (PNA) -- Local government units as well as hotels, restaurants, cinemas and other business establishments in Albay are all set to provide the public with either free viewing or pay per view with other amenities like breakfast and lunch during the Manny Pacquaio-Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight on Sunday.

Albay Gov. Joey Sarte Salceda said Monday that he will offer a free viewing of the PacMay fight, dubbed as the "Fight of the Century," at the Albay Astrodome which can accommodate close to 4,000 people.

He said the free viewing is sponsored by Alaxan.

Albay Rep. Edcel “Grex” Lagman said free viewing of the mega fight will be held in 14 venues in the First District: the municipal covered courts of Sto Domingo and Bacacay, Malilipot National High School covered court, BUTC Lagman Gym in Tabaco City, and other covered facilities in Malinao, Tiwi, and upland villages of Cabasan Island, San Roque, San Lorenzo, San Antonio, Vista San Miguel, Labnig, and Joroan.

Ligao City Mayor Patty Gonzalez-Alsua said the fight can be viewed for free at the Ligao City Gymnasium.

Bichara Silver Screen Cinema 1 offers the public a pay per view at Php500 per viewer.

Hotel St. Ellis will offer pay per view with either breakfast and lunch at Php599. La Venetia Hotel will have pay per view with lunch buffet at Php650 per head.

Other restaurants are interested to offer pay per views but were discouraged because of the high rate of rental they have to pay to the cable provider. (PNA) CTB/FGS/MSA/CBD
