CAMP GEN. SIMEON A. OLA, Legazpi City, Feb. 11 (PNA) -- Police arrested two persons in possession of loose firearms in Barangay Poblacion, Aroroy town, Masbate, over the weekend, a report reaching the Philippine National Police (PNP) Bicol regional office said Tuesday.
Inspector Maria Luisa Calubaquid, PNP Bicol spokesperson, identified the arrested illegal gun holders as Pancho Hao, 29, a vendor, and his companion, Eminiano Capuncol, 36, single and a painter -- both residents of Sitio Tamba, Barangay Poblacion, Aroroy.
Seized from their possession were a .38-caliber revolver and a .22-caliber handgun with four live ammunition which were undocumented, Calubaquid said.
She quoted the report from the Masbate Provincial Police Office as saying that police operatives led by Senior Insp. Nortlando Mesa were responding to a resident's complaint about the illegal discharge of firearms by the two suspects.
Hao and Capuncol are now detained at the Aroroy municipal jail while the police have filed charges for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition and illegal discharge firearms at the Provincial Prosecution Office of Masbate City.(PNA) FFC/FGS/MSA/CBD
