Village chief found in critical condition along Camarines Sur highway

CAMP GEN. SIMEON A. OLA, Legazpi City, Dec. 17 (PNA) -– A village chief believed to be a victim of hit and run was found lying in critical condition beside his wrecked motorcycle at the pavement along the Rolando Andaya Highway in Sitio Bayaao, Barangay Liboro, Ragay, Camarines Sur, on Monday night.

A police report identified the victim as Barangay Captain Ernesto Cena, incumbent village chief of Barangay Upper Omon, Ragay, who was rushed to Bicol Medical Center in Naga City.

The report said a resident of the place found the village official at about 9:20 p.m., lying unconscious at the side of the highway with injuries and broken limb beside his motorcycle.

The unidentified person who saw the victim immediately reported the incident to authorities who brought the victim to the hospital.

The police report said Cena was last seen driving his motorcycle along the Andaya Highway on his way home.

Police are looking into the angle that he was a hit-and-run victim as his motorcycle was wrecked. (PNA) LAP/FGS/EMC/CBD/JSD
